Gill qualified in 1984 with a BSc Hons in physiotherapy from the University of Ulster, Belfast. Gill worked for 2 years in Northern Ireland as a rotational physiotherapist and then moved to London. Gill has worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Edgware Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow.
Gill specialised for 20 years in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and attained a post-graduate diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire in 2009 and became a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in 2009.
Gill has Pilates Matwork level one and two from the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and has run many Pilates classes in the NHS at beginner and advanced level.
Over recent years Gill has become interested in mental health and well-being and has been doing Counselling courses alongside her Physiotherapy. Gill retired as a physiotherapist in July 2017 to concentrate on working as a Pilates Instructor and to continue with her Counselling training.
In a moment of weakness, Gill signed up to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon in 2015, not stopping to think of the training involved! However, she managed to complete it and raised a significant sum of money for the charity Habitat for Humanity which is very close to her heart.
